This program is designed to provide the skid steer operator with an understanding and awareness of skid steer operations and hazards. This course consists of classroom study (course manual provided), a written exam, video presentation, on-site hazard assessment, equipment inspection and a "hands on" performance evaluation of each operator. **

Participants will receive a Photo I.D. Wallet Card (a Certificate of Completion card valid for three (3) years upon successful completion of this course - this card is not a Hoisting License). The customer will receive class rosters and course evaluations.

**Must have a Skid Steer Loader available on site for the hands-on portion of this training.
In some states you may be required to obtain a Hoisting License. Also, Hoisting Licenses are not reciprocal. If you operate in more than one State, i.e., MA & RI, if you are required to have a hoisting license, you will need to obtain one in each State.
It is up to you as the Employer/Contractor/Employee to obtain all necessary licenses required by the states that you operate in. Including, if required, a Hoisting License.
Massachusetts Hoisting Laws:
The Hoisting Examination is based on thorough knowledge of all working parts of the hoisting machinery that the applicant is applying for, as well as safe operating practices, safety inspection of the equipment, hand signals and the Massachusetts General Laws and Regulations as they apply to Hoisting. All applicants should know all operating instructions provided by the manufacturer's operating manuals. Crand and Excavator operators shall know the national standard hand signals found in 520 CMR 6.00 in order to pass the crane and excavator examination. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand technical and stability aspects of a skid steer loader operations.
Understand how to identify work place Hazards.
Causes of skid steer loader accidents.
Demonstrate how to conduct a job site inspection.
Demonstrate how to conduct an equipment safety inspection.
Understand Start-up and Shut-down procedures.
Understand entering and exiting procedures of the skid steer load to avoid injuries.
Demonstrate through a written exam and "hands on" training, their understanding of the safe operations of a Skid Steer Loader.
